Violet Raine McMahan

Little actress. Big dreams.

At the age of four, Violet had her very first audition - and booked a SAG National commercial. She loved that experience and the many more that followed. Now eleven years old, Violet has worked in TV, film, commercials, print and a web series. Her favorite roles to date were playing the young version of Laura Dern's iconic character, Renata Klein, in Season 2 of "Big Little Lies," and a young cult member in the thriller, I Watched You Become Death.

What's my vision?

I love working in both comedy and drama, and I'm always up for adventure. The Goonies and "Stranger Things" are my jam, so I'd love to work on shows and films like that. My current faves are: "The Secrets of Sulphur Springs", "The Mysterious Benedict Society" and "Raising Dion". In addition to acting and singing, at some point I'd like to try out writing and directing. I think learning all aspects of filmmaking makes you a better actor, too.

What have I been up to?

This year, I have the incredible fortune to be working in a supporting lead role in my first horror film. I've also been singing in my school a capella group and am in rehearsals for two different musicals. When I'm not working, I'm also auditioning and spending my free time exploring LA on a 52 Hike Challenge.

Philanthropy

Violet works with Heal the Bay, an environmental nonprofit established in 1985 that is dedicated to making the coastal waters and watersheds in Greater Los Angeles safe, healthy, and clean through science, education, community action, and advocacy.

Other Interests

When not acting, Violet enjoys beach time, hiking, team soccer, being a Girl Scout, piano, singing and dance.
